Shape memory polymers are a type of smart materials that are able to store a temporary shape and recovery their original/permanent shape upon the application of a triggering mechanism.
A triggering mechanism such as heat, UV light or changes in pH are the most common. We mainly focus on thermal activated Shape memory polymers.
These polymers show great potential in the fields of aerospace, biomedical and soft robotics.
