Dr Ayranci's group has focused on incorporating biobased particle for reinforcement and material improvement performance. Biobased composites are the future in terms of biodegradability and reduction of carbon print. Addition of particles such as Nano-Crystalline Cellulose particles has proven to be successful for 3D printing, reinforcement of various polymers, including shape memory polymers. Some of the other projects that are currently being looked at are the use of Lignin in 3D printing, and the development of plant based thermosets and curing agents.
